Hello to all the curious and beautiful minds. Here is a little bit about massage and its effect on circulation.
The connection between massage and relaxation is well known but what else is there to understand about how massage affects the body and the mind?
Well to start with, massage promotes an Increase in blood circulation and lymphatic flow. The pressure applied through massage can help get the circulation moving again. Good circulation of blood and lymph can relieve swelling, tension, tightness, and pain by keeping the nutrients and oxygen flowing to all of your cells. This promotes healing and repair, building the best tissues and fibers and supporting your beautiful bod. Plus, blood circulation helps rid the body's metabolic waste. In a  2020 study in the American Physiological Society's Journal of Applied Physiology, it was found that a five-minute manual leg massage increased circulation in not only the affected limb, but in the surrounding areas as well. So, small massage = big feel.
When can this be most helpful?
When you are injured - cellular nutrients get to the injured site more easily to build and repair, and take out the spent and broken cells for recycling.
When you start a new exercise program - recover quickly and build muscle more comfortably.
When you haven't exercised in a while - fresh circulation for when your body is stagnant and your energy is low. Your feeling of relaxation is very different from your feeling of lethargy.
